World Congresses of Philosophy (Seoul, Athens); I have organized three sessions:
American, European, and Far East Values. A Philosophical Rapprochement: A round table debate at XXII World Congress of Philosophy, S. Korea. 2008
23rd World Congress of Philosophy (Athens, August 3-10, 2013); Santayana Society Meeting and Invited Session on Classical American Pragmatism
In 2013, in Athens, there took place the 23rd Congress, to which preparations lasted a few years; namely, just after the previous, 22nd Congress in South Korea, where I organized a round table session, I was invited by FISP (the organizer) vice-president, prof. Herta Docekal-Nagl (Vienna University) to organize and moderate (in Athens) the so-called “invited session,” devoted to classic American pragmatism. The session’s title was: Classical American Philosophy: Practicing Philosophy As Experiencing Life. I intend to edit, in Rodopi, a book with extended and scholarly prepared texts presented at that session. The other session, also organized by me, was a Santayana Society Meeting. Years ago, I initiated works about introducing the Santayana Society to FISP, which is the requirement for having the possibility to a hold society session at the World Congress. I thank my Santayana Society fellows for great engegement in the project.
